About Us

We are a friendly practice located in a beautiful rural area close to the Norfolk Broads. Our main surgery is based at Coltishall and our branch surgery is found four miles away in Spixworth. We currently have 7 GPs (4 male and 3 female), 2 Advanced Care Practitioners, a Lead Practice Nurse and 2 Practice Nurses, as well as a Health Care Assistant, a Phlebotomist, and several dispensary, reception and administrative personnel. We also have attached staff from Norfolk Community Health and Care (NCHC) Trust.

We are a teaching practice. We have from time to time a GP Registrar and for The University of East Anglia (UEA) we currently train 1st year medical students.

Practice Booklet

The surgery produces a practice booklet which details all of the services and opening hours available at both surgeries. If you would like a copy, please either ask at reception or download here.

Freedom of Information

The practice operates a freedom of information policy. A document providing information in line with the Information Commissioners Publication scheme is available to download here.

Average GP Earnings (2018/19)

NHS England requires the declaration of mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver GP services to patients at all practices.

The average pay for GPs working in Coltishall Medical Practice in the 2018/19 financial year was £83,714 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 4 full time GPs, 2 part time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

(It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading, as it does not take into account how much time doctors spend working in the practice,  It should not therefore be used to form judgements about GP earnings, nor to make comparisons with other practices.)
